well hope you like wot i have don so here go`s again this time i was was still working for Bournemouth transport.
in the early days as a conductor or driver it was a different ball game from to day it was allot more fun enjoyed going to work .
working on a pd3 layland (back loader ) when i was condtoring with a driver who was a fast one but we had 15 mins at turnmas in stead of 10 mins .so it was hang on tight when we went round corners or roundabouts ?
well we were coming down a hill in to Bournemouth (bath road )with a roundabout at the bottom of it and ray was driving a bit fast and as we went round the roundabout my box (with my ticket machine and my lunch in it ) went flying out though the open back entrance whoosh on to the road and all i could do was see it disappear as we were going along the other road in to the town centre .
well as you can see when we came to stop .i went round to speak to ray and tell him whot had happened he just loft and said we will pick it up when we go out on the next journey but when we got back to were it was unfortunately it was flat a norther bus had seen it in the road and ran over it .???
so one flat box and ticket machine r and lunch well it had it . so all i could do was give free rides
until i finished and hope we do not see an inspector .(which we did not ) so when i went to pay in i was in trouble. as it was an accident it was not so bad .
so you see you can now see the funny side of it ..
imagine if that happened to day you would be in a lot of trouble and have to pay for a new machine.

1972 things we did ???
1972 was when i started out on the buses and i never thought i would still be driving them today but yes i am and still get a buzz .But not as much as i used to anyway back then it was a lot more fun . when you had "driver and conductor" as i started as a conductor it was fun on the back loader's? and ringing the bells "hold tight please ding ding " as the bus pulled off and you would go and collect the fares and chat to the customers and chat up the young girls (well i did with results.?) and then take them out for a drink at the weekend .
when working on the layland atlantean`s you could speak with the driver and have a laugh one driver i work with a lot was mick who had a nickname "mango"( as in mango Jerry ) who was a good mate as well you would not believe the things that we got up to . Well i will reveal so of the things we did . -( ON THE BUSES )
Right picture it was a cold day 06 05 in the morning we had just sing on i went and got the teas and mick went and look at the broad to see whot bus we had i remember it was a " 1966 layland atlantean with the old hand brake. (Bournemouth transport should have told you that.) anyway so mick went to start it up as i went and got my ticket machine fill the flask (for tea later ) and went to the bus so SEMIAUTO and doors included when i arrived at the bus mick was standing up in the drive`s seat looking up and doing the blind with right foot on the pedal to the metal reving it up to get it warm with tea in one hand and machine in other doors where closed i shouted open the doors mungo got your tea and mine. so not looking down he put his hand on the gear leaver and put it in whot he tho rt was doors (to open ) BUT it was first gear ? oops well Whot happend next was the bus jump forward hit the bus in front to which that bus hit the next one o and mick well was thrown back in to his seat with legs in the air and me well tea went everywhere and i went backwards on to the floor. as you can imagine it cause chaos.??
